It’s the comeback all of tennis is talking about: ESPN Tennis Coverage returns for Wimbledon! Of course ESPN returning to covering major level tennis might be as welcome to fans as other comebacks happening around the tour. Much like we saw down under, ESPN has continued to move more and more of its coverage behind (higher priced) paywalls. Wimbledon will be no different, in fact it looks like the option to purchase the cheaper ESPN Select subscription that worked for some in the past will be completly out the window for Wimbledon. If you are hoping to see all courts it appears ESPN Unlimited will be the way to go.
There may some relief if you do have a cable subscription. ESPN has been rolling out ESPN Unlimited to cable providers, meaning if you already get ESPN via your cable subscription you can log into ESPN Unlimited. If you fall into that bucket, I would recommend trying to authenticate with your cable log in first to avoid the $30 charge. A few that are included are DirectTV, Hulu Live TV, Spectrum, FIOS, and Comcast. Notably, YouTube TV is not yet included in this option. If needed, you can sign up for ESPN Unlimited here, and don’t worry Tennis Watchers will send you reminders to cancel once the tournament is over :)
