Welcome to Week 16 of the 2021 Season! The clay court season really kicks into high gear this week, with four clay events on the schedule. The WTA will return to Stuttgart, one of the premier indoor clay court events on the calendar this week (which also happens include the always fun Porsche giveaway to the winner). The WTA will also hold a 250 event in Istanbul. The ATP continues its clay court swing in Barcelona and will return to Serbia for the first time since 2012 with a clay court event in Belgrade.
In more scheduling news, the WTA as released an updated 2021 calendar for the next nine weeks.
A few key highlights include the removal of the Nottingham and Cologne events to accommodate the one-week delay of the French Open, and the expansion of WTA 125 tournaments to provide additional playing opportunities. You can see the full update from the WTA here.
